Pandemic Acknowledgment and Tuition and Fees Disclaimer 2020-2021

Pandemic Acknowledgment

The College of New Jersey strives to provide a meaningful college experience in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, consistent with the standards for excellence and collegiality that drew you to TCNJ.

TCNJ holds as paramount the health, safety and welfare of every member of its community. In light of an evolving virus environment, every member of our community—including you—must do their part to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection. This means adhering to national, state, and local health guidelines and requirements, and adhering to those measures TCNJ deems safe and appropriate for its campus. Specific details will be provided as circumstances dictate, but this includes things identified on the TCNJ Spring Flex site, such as: temperature checks, social distancing, wearing masks or other facial coverings, using other PPE, not reporting to class or work if sick, and isolating and quarantining when required.

You agree to do all of this not only for yourself, but for the safety of others, and because this is consistent with the spirit of TCNJ.

Even with these precautions to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infections, we cannot guarantee a COVID-19-free environment. You understand that if you return to the physical campus of TCNJ, there is a risk you may contract COVID-19. We are taking recommended steps to mitigate this risk, but we cannot categorically guarantee that infection will not happen. By coming onto campus, you voluntarily assume the risks related to exposure of COVID-19.

Tuition and Fees Disclaimer

As described on the TCNJ Spring Flex site, TCNJ intends to have a hybrid of on-campus and remote experiences during Spring/Summer 2021. The College’s Board of Trustees has approved a budget with no tuition increase this year and a decrease in the total amount of fees that students are required to pay. The Board and the administration will continue to identify and take actions to ensure student success in spring semester and beyond.

Tuition and fees will be the same regardless of your learning environment for Spring/Summer 2021. The tuition and fees you pay are in exchange for learning, academic credit, and academic support services made available in person, in a hybrid environment, or entirely remotely. By enrolling in classes for the Spring/Summer 2021 semester, you acknowledge that you will not be entitled to a refund of tuition or fees if you must take some or all classes remotely or if circumstances during the semester require transition to fully remote learning for any period of time.
